HERE IS OUR FULL REVIEW

Bender Ball is both an object with which to exercise – the ball itself – as well as a training programme which is available on a DVD or on VHS. The manufacturers claim that its Selective Stabilization1 method tones up your abs in an unbelievable way.

The makers of Bender Ball and the associated training program claim that this combination is four times as effective as regular, or freehand, crunches. Again, the claim is that it exercises all the muscles in your core, thereby shaping your abs very effectively and by spending very little time.

This ball and training programme were developed by Leslee Bender2 who has a vast experience in the field of exercise and fitness. According to her, this method takes fitness training to a level where results are simply amazing.
Bender Ball Specifications

The ball is about 7 inches in diameter and comes with a VHS or a DVD, depending on what you order. Its shipping weight is 8 ounces.

How Bender Ball Works

The Bender Ball facilitates crunches in a very different way. When you do crunches starting with resting your back on the floor, knees bent and your heels drawn closer to your body, you are able to execute the crunch only up from there. But, because of the floor, you are not able to bend over backwards. With the Bender Ball on the floor, just behind the small of your back, you are able to bend forward as well as backwards.

The other exercises achieve different results by making you extend and pull back your legs sometimes one at a time and sometimes both together. Other exercises require you to raise one or both legs in the air while resting your hips on the ball.

Bender Ball : Real Consumer Feedback

The Bender Ball is almost like any other exercise ball; maybe, just a little different in diameter. However, the Bender Method of core training is what makes the difference. Most people who have used this method are able to confirm that using the ball as a tool, the Bender Method directs your effort to different parts of your abs during the different exercises – the upper abs, the sides and the lower abs as well. With low intensity in conjunction with high intensity exercises, the Bender Method ensures that the entire core is exercised the way it should be.

…the DVD is useless. But then again, most exercise DVDs are. You’ve got to keep in mind they take all kinds of supplements and probably have personal trainers working with them 6 days a week. And if they’re any kind of successful, they can afford medical procedures the other 99% of us can’t (or just won’t do). If you’ve ever seen the commercial for this, the only truth to it is the “flexion and extension” part: you need both motions to really work your muscles to their fullest extent. The ball is good because it allows you more room to move, depending on where you place it under your back. So if you buy this at all, get it for the ball (which is the perfect size for ab workouts) and ignore the DVD. You can find free workouts online anyhow. – Busy college junior, Massachusetts, Amazon.com

I bought this at Walmart, so I didn’t have the DVD club issues others have had. It is just a little ball, but I think the exact size of it is important for it to work right, and also the flexibility of the rubber, so I would still buy this over a kids ball.

I also like the DVDs that came with it. I tend to need instruction and reminders, and the videos keep me honest and keep me from stopping a few reps early;-) – Amanda Robinson, Amazon.com

I bought this a week ago because I have such a hard time doing crunches and I just didn’t feel like I was getting a good ab workout with my big exercise ball. I put the Core Stabilzation DVD in and wow did my abs feel it. I only had time the first time I did it for the first two levels but the next day my abs really felt it! I don’t expect it to work like they say it does in the commercial because when I watched the commercial you can actually see the model sucking her stomach in as she turns. I bought it to help get my abs in better shape and it definitely helps with that! I would definitely recommend this product. If you are looking for an inexpensive product that gives your abs a good workout this one is definitely it. – Faith Marston, Deer River, Minnesota, Amazon.com
